Since her parents died of AIDS-related illnesses, Nomfundo has brought up her four brothers and sisters. She gets support from the Thandanani Children’s Foundation, which provided a school uniform and other items that allowed her to stay in school. They also help in other ways, providing counselling and food. Nomfundo studies biology, physics and geography and wants to be a social worker when she’s older.
