Vestina (14), her sister and six cousins live with their grandparents. Like many families in Zambia looking after younger relatives affected by HIV or AIDS, having extra mouths to feed can put a strain on their food reserves. Maize meal is a basic staple food for many Africans and can help families keep strong and healthy. Vestina’s family gets maize flour from Christian Aid’s partner, the Archdiocese of Lusaka to supplement their diet – it makes all the difference.
