Everyone needs clean water to stay alive, and seven-year-old Caralis Picado from Nicaragua (pictured) is no exception. Christian Aid partner Community Movement of Matagalpa (MCM) works to improve health and sanitation in 20 communities. According to head of MCM Sergio Saenz López, a community tap gives water so clean that ‘even foreigners drink it’. A single tap can make a huge difference to people’s lives, bringing fresh water to an entire village. A gift like this just keeps on giving.
